We had the missionaries over for dinner this evening and for their thought they shared they shared a story. The Story was about a young man who before he received his mission call had a dream. His dream was about when he was in the pre-existance with a friend. As They were waiting for their 'calls' to earth the young man having the dream was told that he would be born to a family strong in the gospel, who went to church every sunday and that he would be called on a mission. His friend was told that he was going to be born to a family in poverty, that he wouldn't have the gospel in his life. As the friends were talking the one that was to be born in poverty told the one that would have the gospel that he needed to find him. Well, the one young man gets his mission call to Costa Rica. After the first week he wrote home and said that he had found his friend.
At the end they were talking about how we all have a friend from the premortal life that we might have promised to find. As they were talking about that the first thought I had was of Josh Swapp. He was a co-manager I had while I worked at KFC. I remember that When we first started working together, he would swear a lot and I asked him not to swear around me. Over the time that we worked together, and the chats we had he stopped swearing around me, and it came out that I was a bishops daughter. In one of our many chats Josh told me that I wasn't like all the other bishops daughters that he knew. I was "good". Then in Oct 2001 he came up to me on a Tuesday and told me that he was being baptized that Saturday. I never took that day off and looking back I wish I had. But the story got me thinking, what if Josh was My friend?!?! It's interesting to think about.
Great story, Jaimi. I remember you telling me about the situation. Too bad we can't wind the clock back sometimes and "re-do" some stuff. It would have been good to be to his baptism...however, you obviously were a good example to him. Good for you!!
